Pools, fans and lawns: how South Africans are gearing up for the heat
Warmer days are here, and households are ramping up efforts to prepare their homes for the heat. With the first proper hot spell landing early this year, pool and garden jobs are filling the boards.

The most requested tasks this month are pool clean-ups, lawn mowing, aircon servicing and fan installation. Many of them are small jobs that are easy to put off, which is exactly why they end up on a task list for months.
A pool clean-up typically runs from R350 to R600 depending on the size of the pool and how much debris has built up. Lawn mowing on a standard suburban stand sits around R250 to R450.
Book early in the week if you can. Taskers fill their weekends first, and the good ones are usually taken by Thursday.
